Yana is an empathetic and client-focused psychotherapist registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), holding a Master of Arts degree specializing in Clinical Mental Health Counselling from the Adler Professional Graduate School. With over a decade of dedicated practice, Yana has cultivated expertise in employing evidence-based therapeutic modalities to facilitate positive change in diverse clinical settings.

Yana's therapeutic approach is grounded in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), augmented by extensive training in Trauma-Informed Counselling. She is dedicated to providing personalized care to individuals, couples, and families, drawing from a rich toolkit of interventions, including distress tolerance, mindfulness, emotional regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness skills. Yana is deeply committed to fostering cultural humility and respecting her clients' unique needs and backgrounds.

In addition to her clinical practice, Yana advocates for ongoing professional development. She has pursued specialized training workshops, including Prolonged Exposure for Trauma-Informed Counselling, to stay informed of the latest advancements in the field and ensure the highest standard of care for her clients.

DBT Individual Psychotherapy

Individual psychotherapy provides a confidential space to explore emotional challenges, relationship patterns, life transitions, anxiety, depression, trauma, and personal growth. Sessions are tailored to your unique needs and may draw from evidence-based approaches such as DBT, CBT, attachment-focused, trauma-informed, and relational therapies.

This service is appropriate for individuals seeking support, insight, emotional processing, and lasting change through a collaborative therapeutic relationship.

  • Personalized treatment planning
  • Brief administrative communication between sessions as needed

Comprehensive DBT Therapy

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a structured, evidence-based treatment designed to help individuals develop skills for managing intense emotions, tolerating distress, improving relationships, and building a meaningful life.

DBT therapy focuses on measurable behavioural change through skills training, behavioural analysis, accountability, and the application of skills in daily life.

Includes:

  • Skills coaching and treatment planning
  • Review of diary cards and homework assignments when applicable
  • Brief support regarding DBT skill implementation between sessions

DBT Therapy + Coaching Package

Designed for clients actively participating in DBT treatment who would benefit from additional support applying DBT skills in real-life situations outside of scheduled sessions.

Includes:

  • Between-session DBT coaching support
  • Paging access for skills coaching
  • Assistance applying DBT skills during challenging situations
  • Ongoing accountability and reinforcement of treatment goals

Coaching Call Structure

  • Coaching contacts are brief and focused on skills use.
  • Coaching calls typically last 3–5 minutes.
  • The purpose of coaching is to identify and apply effective DBT skills, not to process emotions in depth or conduct a therapy session.

Not Appropriate for Coaching

  • Emergencies
  • Active suicide attempts
  • Situations requiring immediate crisis intervention
  • Requests for additional therapy sessions by text or phone

The goal of coaching is to strengthen independent skill use and increase confidence in managing difficult situations effectively between therapy sessions.
